How do I renew my domain name?
Unless you stipulate otherwise with your Registrar, your .CA domain name will be auto-renewed for one year upon its expiry date provided that your Registrar has sufficient funds in its deposit account to pay for the auto-renewal, and provided you pay for the auto-renewal. If you do not want your domain name to auto-renew, you should advise your Registrar.

How can I update my information regarding my .CA domain names?
Your Registrar is responsible for updating your registration information. If there are any changes to your information,please notify your Registrar at your earliest possible convenience to ensure that your contact information remains up to date.

How do I transfer my domain name to another Registrar?
To transfer your .CA domain name to another Registrar, you must choose a new Certified Registrar. Provide the new Registrar with your authorization code, and they will initiate the request with CIRA for you. Once validated and approved, CIRA will send you an email confirming the change of Registrar.

To transfer a domain name that is part of an administrative bundle, all registered domain names in that bundle must be transferred to the same Registrar. A separate transfer request must be initiated for each of the registered domain names in the administrative bundle. Once a transfer is initiated for one of the domains, the other domains in the administrative bundle will be held in a pending state for five days. If the remaining registered domain names in the administrative bundle are not transferred within that period, the transfer will not be completed.

To transfer your .CA domain name to another Registrant, please contact your Registrar. They will initiate and manage the process on your behalf. CIRA will notify you when the transfer has been completed.

What is CIRA’s role in registering my .CA domain name? What does my Registrar do?
CIRA is responsible for operating the .CA domain name registry system.
Your Registrar is responsible for the management of your .CA domain names, including managing all changes to your Registrant profile and your domain names (transfer, cancellations, renewals, and so on).
