Domain Names & Websites
So you have a .CA domain name. What’s next?
If you want to develop a website, you have a few options.
To get a website up and running on the Internet, there are a couple of things you need to do.
- You need to find someone to host the website. Your Internet Service Provider may offer this service, or there are other options available
- If you do not need a high quality, professional looking website, there are website templates available.
- If you have a small business, Google Canada provides a free, easy to use service called Canada Get Your Business Online. This service allows you to select a .CA web address and provides an easy to use template-based system for you to use in building your site.
- If your website is more complicated, you probably want to hire a professional website designer. CIRA developed a brief presentation titled Five Things to look for in a Web Designer to help you find the professional that suits your needs.
Do you already have a website? You can use your new domain name to redirect to your existing website.
