Internet policy and the federal election

We love the internet. A lot. Every day we learn more about its downsides, but there’s no doubt that we’re better off because of it. In seconds, we can connect with knowledge, creativity, job opportunities, and our friends and family all over the world.

But it’s an election year and there’s a battle looming over the future of Canada’s internet. From election meddling to cyberattacks, ‘fake news’ and beyond, there’s a growing number of lawmakers who think the internet is broken and that someone needs to fix it. Whether you agree or not, how policymakers respond will significantly impact our digital future.
