THE PROJECT

Water Rangers empowers citizens to collect water quality observations and share water quality data online, connecting water-based research and crowdsourced information to make it easier for all Canadians to understand the importance of healthy water. With a CIRA grant, they developed a Water Reader app and distributed testing devices to 53 groups representing more than 1000 children across Canada.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

They conducted 810 water tests, bridging gaps between Canadians and water health and increasing the robustness of water quality data. This builds capacity for resilient, long-term monitoring where communities can contribute to collecting water quality data efficiently and inexpensively.
