THE PROJECT

As a not-for-profit association with the mission of promoting and defending consumer rights and interests, ACEF Centre de Montréal is concerned with issues relating to online safety and privacy. They identified that children in particular need to develop their digital literacy skills to better understand the risks associated with using the internet. Two illustrated children’s stories were developed to educate children aged five to twelve about cyber security, cyber bullying and protecting their identity online.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

The stories are available online and accompanied by an educational guide for parents, providing a fun and engaging way to help children learn to use the internet safely and effectively. In the first six months online, the resulting resources were viewed over 2,500 times.
