Énonce du (de la) candidat(e) :

IT and the Internet were never in my career goals but as I got more involved in both areas it became clear that I truly got a rush of excitement to get up and tap into its advancements day in and day out.

When I graduated from York University in International Business and later pursued a Master in Marketing and Finance fro University of Michigan, I never thought that doing viability studies in the financial sector of Toronto would get me to the Telecommunications and IT arenas. One of my first projects in the Telecommunications industry was to conduct a viability study on what once many of us got to know as Centrex Lines.

As a result of that I ended up working with the major players in the field MCI WorldCom, AT&T Global, and Bell Canada. While working for them, I got to represent them in Commissions of both the FCC and the CRTC on the e-commerce guidelines and also on what would be the internet speeds assessments committees.

Now 25+ years later, I run a consulting business with a broad vision into Smart city technologies, Cyber security, Cloud computing and Data mitigation. I am at times surprised of what the current advancements of technology can do but specifically how it has changed the game for ISP's and Registrars when it comes to the way business is directed.

I feel at the end of the day that I can bring a lot of my experience to help advise where new guidelines should be implemented and how this segment of the industry should look for assistance.

Réponses aux questions obligatoires:

1. Expliquez, de votre point de vue, ce que l'ACEI fait et pourquoi son rôle est important.

CiRA represents to me as an advisory body that helps it members and canadians in general understand how this area of technology works and how they can grow their businesses with an ethical and progressive outlook to the future.

To me CIRA does the work that no one likes to do for themselves by analyzing not only trends of the marketplace but y bring forth the regulations that could affect its members not just operationally but financially.

2. Pourquoi désirez-vous faire partie du conseil d’administration de l’ACEI?

I feel that my background and previous board experience can assist CIRA by proving an outside view to the issues surrounding its members and the industry. I also believe that after having been a member for such a long time its my time to give back to CIRA, what it has provided for me.

3. Quelles sont les compétences et les expériences particulières que vous possédez et qui font de vous le meilleur candidat pour le conseil d’administration de l’ACEI?

Previous BOD experience in multiple industries
Knowledge of the different segments of the Industry
Professionalism, Trust, Reliability and Cooperation
Understanding of the key players at the regulatory levels

4. Selon vous, quels sont les trois principaux défis et possibilités qui se présenteront à l’ACEI au cours des trois à cinq prochaines années? Quelle approche adopteriezvous pour résoudre ces enjeux?

Extensive growth of the number of Registrars
Price points in the segment
Security Threats for our members
