Registration is now open for Canadians Connected 2017, which brings together Canada’s Internet community to learn from top digital thinkers and gain insight on the Canadian Internet Registration Authority’s (CIRA) latest initiatives to advance the Internet in Canada.

OTTAWA, August 2, 2017 – Canadians Connected 2017 brings together Canada’s Internet community to learn from top digital thinkers and gain insight on the Canadian Internet Registration Authority’s (CIRA) latest initiatives to advance the Internet in Canada.

This event is free and will be available online by webcast.

Canadians Connected will feature the host of CBC Radio’s Under the Influence, Terry O’Reilly who will discuss the social, economic and cultural fabric of Canada and our brands, including how we perceive each other and how our brands are perceived internationally. Event attendees will also learn more about the future of Canadian cities during a panel discussion on smart communities. The panel will include Ottawa City Councillor Jan Harder, CIRA’s President and CEO Byron Holland and Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson.

Attendees will have the opportunity to shape Canada’s digital future online by getting involved in the governance of an organization that is working to build a better online Canada.

By participating in the event, CIRA Members can have a direct impact on the future of the Internet in Canada by voting on items of business. While anyone can attend, only CIRA Members can vote at the AGM or in the upcoming 2017 board of directors election.

Membership is free and open to all .CA domain name holders with an interest in advancing the Internet in Canada.
